Abstract: This presentation will explore the importance of student success and persistence in higher education, and the critical role that academic advising plays in supporting students on their academic and personal journeys. Through a focus on collaborative advising, the presentation will introduce innovative and evidence-based advising strategies that promote student success and persistence. Participants will learn about the concept of collaborative advising and its potential to support student success, as well as practical strategies for building effective partnerships between advisors, faculty, and staff. The presentation will conclude with case studies and recommendations for advancing student success and persistence through collaborative and proactive advising and the utilization of Motivational Interview techniques.
