Title: What the "Duck" to do in College?: A Ducky Adventure
Lead Presenter: Scott Cooper
Date: December 31, 1969    Time: 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Room:
Abstract: This presentation explains an experiential learning approach that teaches students to use metacognition in their common practices. The Ducky model provides a single session, or semester-long system where students receive a 'rubber duck study buddy' to personalize and connect with and use to explore study strategies in a gamified context. This model creates a system where the advisor or instructor can follow up on the student's experience in an engaging and unique way. This presentation will provide examples and steps for both models allowing attendees to implement a similar system at their own institutions and will re-create a portion of the system for attendees to experience.
