Abstract:
|
In effort to better serve first-generation students, examining services that provide improved retention and academic success is critical to successful programming, particularly on small campuses. While colleges offer a variety of student services, many students are not aware of the services available, where to find them, how to request services not provided, or how services may be beneficial to them. Creating a student organization targeted at improving belonging and retention through mentoring, academic support, and career support is the objective of this project. It will allow the college to assess programmatic effectiveness through the lens of student voices. Student ownership of activities to support themselves and their peers will, optimally increase participation and provide benefit to increasing inclusiveness on campus. |
