Abstract: HOT TOPIC Recruiting Peers and Keeping Them Engaged

For this HOT TOPIC discussion, the Peer Advising and Mentoring Advising Community will act as the host of this discussion on recruitment of peer student workers and keeping them engaged. Peers play a pivotal role in supporting advising work on campuses throughout the world. Over the past couple years in facing the pandemic our students have faced many challenges, and this includes our peers that serve as student workers. In these unprecedented times we as supervisors of peers have had to make many changes in our recruitment process and come up with new strategies to keep students engaged in our programs. With this discussion we hope to create space for those working with peers to share their challenges, triumphs, and questions in regards to recruitment and engagement.
