Abstract:
|
The student population in higher education has dramatically shifted over the last 20 years, and the completion of a postsecondary education has decreased to 47% of Americans (Lumina Foundation, 2018). Those numbers are even lower for multicultural students, who struggle to navigate the systems of higher education. To increase the likelihood of multicultural students' success, progress, and graduation, multicultural academic advising is crucial. Multicultural academic advising is a holistic approach that supports students from all diverse backgrounds, and academic advisors embrace these differences rather than ignoring them. |
