Date: December 31, 1969    Time: 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Room:
Abstract: How can advising administrators create environments where individuals and teams optimize opportunities for achieving unit and personal goals? In this session, presenters and participants will prepare to lead teams through three key themes: co-creating a vision, focusing on the unique role of each team member, and developing clear expectations. The presentation will examine key concepts, guiding questions, and examples and resources for what each theme looks like in practice. The framework anchoring the presentation is Appreciative Administration, the aspirational practice of establishing trusting relationships, achieving personal and organizational goals, and engaging in positive restlessness (Bloom & McClellan, 2016; Elsberry, 2022; Elsberry et al., 2023). Throughout the presentation, participants can create the skeleton of an annual plan with strategies for working with and through teams to bring the plan to life.
