Abstract:

The Impact of AI-driven Advising Platform on High-Risk College Student Academic Performance and Advisor Working Efficiency
The impact of AI-driven Academic Advising is not well understood, although it is a right popular topic in global colleges. Using a mixed qualitative and quantitative research, this study investigated the effects of AI-driven Academic Warning and Advising Platform (AI-AWAP) on high-risk student and their advisors. The data were drawn from a world-class university control experiment sample of 8 different departments, including STEM and social science disciplines. Results revealed that when departments participated in AI-AWAP, positive associations were found, such as lower rate of high-risk student, higher GPA, and higher work efficiency of advisor. Additionally, we found AI-AWAP promoted partnership between student affairs-academic affairs by creating seamless learning environments. Implications for advisors and program managers are discussed. |
