Advisers As Helpful Resources for Living Learning Communities
A student who resides in a Living Learning Community (LLC), has the opportunity to live and learn with classmates who share similar interests but bring many different personalities and traits to the environment. The student will live with other members of the LLC in a close-knit community located in University housing. Students build strong relationships with fellow residents and with the affiliated academic advisers.
Advisers can make a difference by teaching students in one of these LLC's in a freshman seminar course and by being there for their events. Connecting students between their academic coursework, campus resources, academic experiences, and real life helps students and advisers work together to set realistic goals. In this group discussion, advisers from diverse living options will address the benefits of LLC's. |
