Title: How to Make 'Work From Home' Work for You
Lead Presenter: Miranda Milovich
Date: October 06, 2020    Time: 2:30 pm - 3:15 pm
Room: Live
Abstract: Working from home is now common practice as many industries look for ways to adapt to the needs of our ever-changing world. Research shows that telecommuting can increase productivity and decrease sick days among employees, but can it work long-term for advising offices that typically assist students in person? Learn how one advising team has utilized part-time work from home since 2016 to provide flexibility for advisors, decrease traffic and pollution, and minimize advisor burnout – all while increasing efficiency and maintaining accessibility for students. This presentation will provide advisors and managers with tips for making the most of your work day, holding yourself or your team accountable, maintaining effective communication while apart, and how to make the case for an option to work from home long-term in your own office.
