Abstract: Advocating for Academic Advising on Your Campus: How to Improve Faculty Connections in a Sea of Conflicting Priorities. Does advising have consistent support on your campus? Do campus colleagues truly understand what you do? Are sufficient resources allocated to support? Is advising present at discussions about student success and curricular initiatives? This panel of advising administrators will share various ways to effectively advocate for advising and ensuring that advising gets a seat at the table when our input matters most to better support our students. Participants will be challenged to think of ways -both big and small -that they might be able to advocate more effectively when they return home. Come join us in exploring best practices to connect and advocate!
