Abstract: Meeting Students Where They're at: When is it Time to Let Students Help Themselves?

During the pandemic, students were given flexibility in schools across the country. In higher education, we flipped to online classes with generous extensions and minimal participation. The advising world had to move to a virtual format with different expectations from students. Fast forward to 2024 and students are still expecting us to be champion helpers. How much is too much when it comes to endless flexibility?

Join us for a facilitated open discussion on how to navigate the ongoing demand to meet students where they're at. We plan to touch on challenges we face in the academic advising environment and at the university level. Are you seeing an uptick in student dependency or has this always been the deal in Advising-Burgh?
