Abstract:
|
Where Belonging is Built: Fostering TRIO Students through Specialized Support & Empowerment at HBCUs addresses the intersection of advisement and support for special populations and the instrumental role of Student Support Services at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Supported by a wealth of evidence-based literature, presenters will navigate through best-practice approaches, highlighting empowerment strategies, innovative academic services, and accommodations and creating a vibrant culture fostering a sense of belonging. Specifically tailored for students who identify as First-Generation, Low-Income, or have a disability, this comprehensive exploration aims to explain successful approaches and inspire and equip institutions to champion inclusivity and academic achievement. |
