Abstract:
|
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming higher education, yet many institutions lack structured frameworks for its integration. Despite advisors' eagerness to adopt innovative approaches for student engagement, the constraints of daily responsibilities often limit exploration of emerging technologies. The absence of formal institutional training on AI integration creates additional barriers to adoption. This session addresses this gap by providing advisors with practical, accessible strategies for incorporating ethically informed AI into their professional practice.
Participants will discover how AI tools can streamline administrative workflows, enhance communication efficiency, spark creative approaches to student outreach, and improve accessibility in advising services. Through hands-on demonstrations, interactive discussion, and collaborative problem-solving, advisors will explore the ethical dimensions of AI implementation while developing confidence in using these technologies responsibly.
This session emphasizes that while AI can augment efficiency and inform decision-making processes, the essence of academic advising remains rooted in human connection, empathy, and personalized support. Our focus is on how AI can complement these fundamental human elements, ultimately enhancing advisors' capacity to support students as they navigate both their academic journeys and an increasingly AI-influenced world. |
