Enhancing Success: Bridging the Gap in Veteran Academic Advising
Student Veterans of America (SVA)'s mission is to act as a catalyst for student veteran success by providing resources, network support and advocacy to, through, and beyond higher education. Historically, SVA has focused on the chapter-centric life cycle of student Veterans supporting more than 1,500 on-campus chapters in all 50 states and three countries overseas representing more than 750,000 student Veterans. As a data-driven organization, SVA's research has informed the need of expanded academic and career coaching services for Servicemembers as they are transitioning out of the military or considering to pursue higher education after their time in Service. In this presentation, we will share one of SVA's newest initiatives - our National Academic Advising Center - and the tools, resources and innovations designed to improve student veteran success and outcomes. |
