Title: Why Honors? Advisors Working as a Team to Support High-Achieving Students
Lead Presenter: Kelly Briggs
Date: On-Demand
Room: On Demand
Abstract: Regardless of size, shape, or structure of Honors education, inevitable questions about them include: "What are the benefits of an Honors education and how can Honors be integrated into an existing degree program?" As advisors, we must help students connect the dots to bridge their academic requirements with Honors. To do so effectively, academic and Honors advisors must work as a team to address our students' needs holistically. This ultimately allows us to support our students in pursuing their goals, and to positively impact key measures like recruitment, retention, persistence, and completion, both at the institution and within Honors. This panel features Honors advisors from a variety of institutions eager to share their tips on successful collaboration before opening up for a Q&A.
