Title: Keep Calm & Reflect On: First Year Lessons Learned to Steer Advisors and Students to Success!
Lead Presenter: Nicholas Haas-Brown
Date: December 31, 1969    Time: 6:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Room:
Abstract: As advisors our job is to help guide students through their college career. As such, self-reflection can be important to work towards providing continual high-level service and guidance to the students. This lecture session is meant to encourage self-reflection and professional growth by focusing on important lessons learned and how that can champion advisors to give great service for years to come, through limited, personal reflection-based engagement. These lessons learned are important for all advisors, new or veteran, as they sit at the core of our service to the students. Further information will focus on identifying ways institutions can combat systemic shortfalls (e.g., high turnover) by developing a greater sense of community amongst advisors on campus, based on general feedback that has been given at our own institution.
