High advisor turnover disrupts student support and institutional stability. This session explores how hiring practices impact attrition, emphasizing the recruitment cycle's role in retention. Participants will examine how clear job expectations, candidate strategies, structured onboarding, and professional development improve advisor well-being. Through case studies and scenarios, we'll highlight strategies to reduce burnout, enhance job satisfaction, and align hiring with institutional goals, ultimately strengthening advising, improving student persistence, and supporting long-term enrollment success. |
