Title: Working Together For What's Possible: Who Are Faculty Advisors and How Do They Connect With Students
Lead Presenter: Samantha Gizerian
Date: October 08, 2021    Time: 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Room: 264, DECC
Abstract: Faculty advisors work with students at the majority of higher education institutions, yet they make up a small percentage of the engaged advising community. The unique roles and responsibilities of faculty advisors give them less time to interact with or contribute to advising as a discipline, rendering them less visible and their roles less well understood in the advising community at large. This panel of faculty advisors, representing different types of institutions and advising models will discuss their individual roles and how they incorporate advising engagement and scholarship into their workload. Panelists will also address strategies for partnering with primary role advisors and others to support student success.Working together for what's possible: Who are faculty advisors and how do they connect with students
