Abstract: In this session, participants will discuss how faculty and staff can work together to introduce successful study strategies based on the scientific evidence surrounding effective learning. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a Team-Based Learning application exercise that focuses on incorporating strategies for successful learning into study plans. The activities in this session can be adapted and used to actively engage students in conversations focused on active learning techniques that they are able to implement in their study plans. This session will also discuss ongoing programming that highlights the science of learning from pre-matriculation through the first year of medical school. While these programs were created within a medical school environment, the tools and resources could be easily adapted to any student and advising program.
