Abstract: To support graduate student engagement it is crucial for academic advisors to identify graduate student needs and develop meaningful connections with their students, faculty, and on campus departments. This presentation will provide academic advisors with strategies to foster graduate student engagement and meet graduate student's professional development needs by working collaboratively with faculty and on-campus departments. The objectives of this presentation are to: (1) examine the professional development needs of graduate students, (2) discuss some of the challenges associated with working with graduate students (e.g., face to face, cohort, online programs), and (3) identify strategies that may be applied to collaborating with faculty and on campus departments to enhance graduate student engagement and professional development programing.
