Title: Revolutionizing Academic Advising: Exploring the Integration of ChatGPT as a Helper in Higher Education
In November 2022, OpenAI launched ChatGPT, an enhanced version of GPT-3, offering real-time interaction with users. Arizona State University is set to be the first to partner with OpenAI, providing access to the latest ChatGPT for students and faculty. This study explores ChatGPT's application in academic advising, highlighting its potential to improve accessibility, efficiency, and consistency in advising services. It also addresses challenges such as ethical considerations and maintaining the human touch in student-advisor relationships. The research concludes with recommendations for integrating AI in academic advising, emphasizing the need to reevaluate its purpose and human value. |
