This presentation explores Advising as Coaching, a student-centered approach that shifts advising from directive to empowering. By integrating coaching techniques such as powerful questioning, goal-setting, and strengths-based advising, advisors help students take ownership of their academic and career journeys. We will introduce the GROW model, discuss the benefits of a coaching mindset, and provide practical strategies to enhance student engagement, retention, and success. Attendees will gain actionable tools to foster self-discovery, resilience, and accountability in students, creating a more holistic and impactful advising experience. |
