Abstract: The Advising Community on Transfer Students (ACTS) seeks to increase the awareness of transfer student issues among admissions professionals, professional and faculty advisors, and administrators and to assist them in managing these issues through networking, special projects, and general information sharing. Members of ACTS defined six action areas and encourage research, collaboration, sharing of best practices, presentations and advocacy for each of the action areas: Transfer Credit Issues, Transfer Student Orientation/Transition Programs, Technological Resources, Transfer Student Groups with Special Needs, Assessment of Transfer Student Issues, and Discipline-based Transfer Student Advising.

The purpose of the annual meeting is to review the year's successes, network with other advisors with similar interests, announce opportunities for involvement, and brainstorm about new or continuing goals and interest areas.
