Abstract:

They're Not Always Beautiful Days: Graduation Anxiety, Senioritis, and Burnout
Through an interactive presentation, we will discuss why transitioning to working life after college can be difficult for graduating seniors. 'What if I cannot find a job?', 'What if I get my dream job and hate it?', 'Am I ready to be an adult?', and 'Who am I?' are all reasonable concerns and stressors that these students might think about that we'll consider.
Additionally, mental health concerns, such as anxiety and depression, are on the rise among college students. They may experience 'senioritis' and 'burnout' as they are nearing graduation. We will discuss how these terms have evolved from their original definitions and will explore how student services staff can navigate these challenges and better position our graduating seniors for success. |
