Abstract:
|
Universal Design promotes sharing information and designing spaces easily accessible to everyone. Creating a culture in which universal design (UDL) is the norm rather than the exception takes time, persistence, and an open invitation to be a part of intentional efforts. A call to join these efforts on our campus led to the creation of the Access Champions Task Force. Since beginning our work, we have developed best practices for advising with UDL, received a grant to host a UDL conference, and launched several UDL projects to benefit our student population. During this session we will share our story of getting started, our work in progress, and our lessons learned. More importantly we look forward to learning from participants about UDL projects or ideas they have that we all can take back to our campuses. |
