Abstract:
|
This proposal describes an evaluation plan to systematically assess the Drop-in Advising program offered to undergraduate degree-seeking students during the first week of classes and the registration period for future semester(s). The focuses of this evaluation are the effectiveness and efficiency of the Drop-in Advising program, its impacts on student academic development and overall college experience, and areas of program improvement. A multiple mixed-methods approach with multiple quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, including surveys, observations, interviews, focus groups, document reviews, is proposed to provide both formative ("process") and summative ("outcomes") evaluations of the program. Through this proposed evaluation, holistic insights are provided to help inform academic advisors' practice during the Drop-in Advising program, enhance administrators' decision-making process, and provide recommendations for programmatic refinement and success. Limitations of this evaluation plan and recommendations are included. |
