Abstract: Championing Success: Appreciative Advising Using the Coaching Habit

Embark on a transformative journey with us as we explore the synergy of two influential approaches, 'Appreciative Advising' and 'The Coaching Habit,' converging to create a dynamic framework for both student and employee empowerment. Appreciative Advising is an intentional, collaborative practice that leverages open-ended questions to guide students towards optimizing their educational experiences and realizing their dreams, goals, and potentials. Complementing this, 'The Coaching Habit' is an approach pioneered by Michael Bungay Stanier that empowers individuals to find solutions and take proactive actions, shifting the paradigm from directive to collaborative. From the 'Kickstart Question,' inviting individuals to share what's on their mind, to the 'Learning Question,' reflecting on the most valuable insights gained, each query is a catalyst for self-discovery and action.
