This session explores the creation and development of a working group aimed at enhancing the transfer student experience from application to graduation. It addresses challenges in decentralized structures at large public institutions and highlights the grassroots and leadership support that facilitated the initiative. The presentation will share unique supports for transfer students, lessons learned, and successes, offering actionable insights for establishing similar groups elsewhere. Interactive elements like group discussions and polls will engage participants. Key successes include increased focus on transfer student needs, bolstered credibility among leadership, and university-wide events celebrating transfer students.
