Title: The Power of Case Management to Uplift At-Promise Students
Lead Presenter: Dana Booker
Date: October 28, 2025    Time: 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Room: Neopolitan IV, Promenade Level
Abstract: Community colleges have long been home to America's at-promise students including first-generation students, those with disabilities, students who are low-income, and students from minoritized backgrounds. This presentation introduces participants to the work of one program who is using a case management style of advising to increase the success of our students and help them reach their goals. We will explore the program's structure, philosophy, and outcomes, emphasizing the top case management practices driving our success. Key areas that will be discussed include onboarding strategies, coaching techniques, cross-college collaboration, using a data informed approach, and advisors as advocates. Participants will walk away with tangible ideas that they can implement in their own practice no matter their institution type or student population.
