Title: Get a Great START With PALS: Peer Advising Learning & Success
Lead Presenter: Andrew Beverly
Date: October 09, 2021    Time: 9:15 am - 10:15 am
Room: 236, DECC
Abstract: Peer advising has the potential to transform transactional peer conversations into dynamic academic success coaching relationships. What initially started out as a service to support professional advisors has grown to be so much more. Students are seeking support and connection now more than ever, and we have met that need by incorporating academic coaching into our existing peer advising program.

Learn about the Peer Advising for Learning & Success (PALS) program's origins, approach, and data that tells the story of mutually beneficial outcomes for both peer advisors and the students seeking support. This session will provide opportunities to hear from peer advisors in our program, as well as an overview of the various engagement opportunities that PALS offers, such as group crash course sessions and one-on-one appointments.
