Abstract: What does a study on student decision making during COVID-19 and a study on first-generation students' experiences with academic advising in their first semester of college have in common? In this presentation, two higher education professionals pursuing their doctorates will share emerging findings from two studies and explore how the common thread of students in transition provides an opportunity to reflect and enhance our practices after the pandemic. This session provides participants the space to dig into how academic advising and other higher education departments can impact students in transition and the chance to reflect on the challenges that COVID-19 exposed that were hovering just below the surface.
