Have you ever spoken with a student who lacks motivation, seems to encounter one challenge after another, or is afraid to ask for help? Assisting and engaging students in these situations can be challenging and draining. In the session 'Mindset Matters: Coaching Students on Success', participants will brainstorm and discuss best practices on how to support students facing these scenarios. In the spirit of championing advisors as helpers, this presentation will demonstrate how advisors can implement coaching language into their meetings with students to show them how challenges can be turned into areas for growth, and what outcomes those can lead to in the college journey. |
