Abstract:

A Beautiful Day at Orientation: A Personalized Approach Helps Students Connect with Their Advisors:
When we attended Orientation as students, everything seemed planned out and every person knew what they were doing. It seemed like these professionals were running Orientation with an efficiency that suggested Orientation was a program that had been running for years and years. Now that we are a university professional and academic advisor, we help program and coordinate Orientation, and every year is new. Orientation is new every summer with new goals and ways to reach students and help them matriculate to their new school. As a large university on the forefront of progress, our Orientation practices have improved to help students feel more connected to their advisors, major, and College. |
