Title: Advisors & Adventures:Unlocking the Next Level of Your Advising Journey
Lead Presenter: Sean Levine
Date: October 28, 2025    Time: 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Room: Neopolitan III, Promenade Level
Abstract: Advising is an adventure and every advisor is equipped with a unique combination of skills, strengths, and areas for growth. This interactive session seeks to explore how this combination, along with NACADA's Core Competencies align with the abilities of popular Dungeons & Dragons classes-such as the wisdom of the Cleric, the resourcefulness of the Ranger, the passion of the Fighter, and the knowledge of the Wizard. Through discussions and activities, participants will embark on a quest to identify their own strengths, assess opportunities for development, and create an action plan to 'level up' their advising abilities. Attendees will leave equipped with strategies to improve their skillsets, enhance student support, and embrace their role as a guiding force in their students' journeys. No prior D&D experience required-just a willingness to roll the dice on professional growth!
