Abstract:
|
How to help At-risk or Rising-potential students has become the most difficult challenge during and after the epidemic for advisors. At-risk students usually face not only academic risk (e.g. drop out), but also psychological crisis (e.g. depression, suicidal behavior). In this session, we will introduce AI-powered Academic Warning and Advising Platform (AI-AWAP), for helping at-risk students regain both academic success and mental health. AI-AWAP explores the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in the context of academic advising in eight different departments. The controlled experiment indicates AI-AWAP can reduce the number of at-risk students, improve advisors' work efficiency, as well as promote partnership between student affairs and academic affairs by creating seamless learning environments. Creativity in AI technology application is applicable to various institutional settings. |
