Title: Planning For the Day After the Pandemic Ends
Lead Presenter: John Glass
Date: October 09, 2021    Time: 8:00 am - 9:00 am
Room: 212, DECC
Abstract: When COVID-19 closed schools last year, educators had little time to plan how to take classes and support systems online. While some processes worked, administrators fixed new problems and gaps accordingly. Over times, COVID restrictions have lessened, but the pandemic still rages. Planning for the Day after the Pandemic Ends defines the financial, technological, and health issues that society faces when restrictions end. Here, the education system will need to reintegrate students who are emerging from the most difficult challenge of their lives. The adjustments and problems of living in quarantine will merge with problems of the new openness. By utilizing resources for people reintegrating to society after a loss of freedom, be it of movement or from fear, academic advisors will be able to help vulnerable populations readjust to this future normal.
