Abstract:

This session will introduce the efforts currently underway to review, reimagine, and redevelop the academic advising program (AAP) at a mid-sized, academically-focused institution.
Aiming to provide attendees with quality conversation, access to valuable tools and resources and encouragement to consider translating enhancement activities to their organization, participants will have the opportunity to jointly choose three topics of interest, from a list of six, that they would most like the facilitators to focus the session on.
Topics include: defining academic advising; managing change readiness and capacity; leveraging the NACADA Excellence in Academic Advising (EAA) Process; tools and practices for determining your students' advising needs, engagement and satisfaction and outcomes of your AAP; redevelopment recommendations related to mission/goals, structure and staff; and redevelopment recommendations related to programs/services, communication and technology. |
