I Got 99 Problems But Advising Ain't One
Across the country administrations struggle to balance the cost of education with dwindling budgets. Persistence and graduation rates continue to be a priority and a challenge. The landscape of education is shifting and an enrollment cliff looms in the near future. Nevertheless, it is widely agreed upon that timely and effective academic advising encourages persistence and graduation, which can offset lost revenue. Still, units struggle to maintain teams of advisors for lack of livable salaries and adequate benefits. It's past the time we got real about the financial impact of academic advising and began focusing money where it should: on well-trained, dedicated advisors. Join us as we explore the real monetary value of academic advising and how you can show administrators the revenue your office generates. |
