Abstract:
|
Going somewhere new is hard. Being independent is hard. Making change is hard. Building motivation is hard. Overall, college can be hard, especially in your first year of college. But what happens when the challenges of college become too overwhelming, and students end up on academic probation? How can we assist those students to get back on track and not only survive but also thrive? In this presentation, we will discuss the different strategies, topics, and activities we have focused on in our first-year academic probation recovery program. These components have not only benefited students in getting back on track but have also allowed them to build insights and skills that are utilized in every aspect of their lives. |
