Lead Presenter: Jessica Jensen

Room: Zoom Room 1
Abstract: Advising typically involves in-person interactions that allow us build relationships. Now we are faced with the challenge of creating these connections online. How, amid all the web fatigue, can we make meaningful connections with our students? How can we build a foundation for this important relationship that spans a student's time at our institutions?

In this presentation, I will share how I use social media to make meaningful connections with students and how we can use these techniques once we have students back in our offices. I will show how these interactions can improve communication, increase meeting frequency, and help reach students at risk. My goal is to empower advisors to think outside the box and find creative ways to connect with their students.
