Abstract:
|
Does everyone hate moral philosophy professors? We'll find out, because we're bringing moral philosophy into advising! Using the accessible pop philosophy book How to be Perfect as a guide (written by the creator of The Good Place, Michael Schur), this presentation will encourage attendees to step back and consider some common advising and workplace issues through an ethical lens. You'll have a (very) brief overview of Kant's Categorical Imperative and Scanlon's Contractualism, as well as Schur's Moral Exhaustion. We'll end the session discussing Philippa Foot's trolley problem through an advising lens. Trust us; it will be fun! |
