Abstract:
|
New and young advisors may not know or believe that they have made the right choice in advising as a profession. While older advisors may feel stuck in a rut and seek newfound inspiration in the idea that they can still make a difference in students' lives.
Popular culture has a way of connecting people and largely influences aspects of people's lives including travel, dress, and communication. The popular show "Ted Lasso" uses different sayings and situations advisors can draw from to help direct positive change in students.
The comedic humor of Ted Lasso addresses day-to-day college life challenges students and advisors face relating to leadership, relationships, focus, anxiety, and teamwork. Identifying strategies advisors can implement to help address these challenges to promote growth.
