In the high-stakes world of academic advising, leaders often find themselves caught between supporting their teams and meeting institutional demands, frequently leading to burnout and decreased effectiveness. Drawing from stoic philosophy, presence-based leadership principles, and mindfulness practices, this interactive session reveals how to transform advising leadership from chaos to conscious practice. Like a perfect poker hand, participants will learn five powerful strategies for creating sustainable advising environments where both leaders and teams can thrive. Through guided exercises and meaningful discussion, discover how to move from reactive management to mindful leadership.
