Abstract:
|
In this session, learn how one institution has implemented a proactive advising cycle with at-risk, first-year students. The cycle begins with identification of students, a collaborative effort at our institution. Once students are identified, appropriate individual and group interventions are conducted. After the intervention, follow-up inspection allows us to determine whether any new issues have surfaced. If so, the cycle begins again. Details of our proactive advising cycle, as well as metrics, will be discussed. Participants will be guided through a reflective worksheet to translate the main ideas into an actionable plan for implementing the proactive advising cycle at their institution. |
