Abstract:
|
Play is an effective technique with people of all ages and in a variety of settings, including academic advising. This interactive presentation will briefly cover the benefits of play before providing opportunities to practice these techniques. Participants will play with Legos, play dough, and crayons as they explore how to use play to disarm students, facilitate better communication, and assist students in exploration and decision-making. Play fosters hands-on learning environments in which both advisors and students can acquire and process information in a new and exciting way. |
