Abstract: For many advising offices, student workers are vital to daily advising operations. From front desk duties to answering general advising queries, advising offices can maximize their budgets and increase office engagement through student employment. In this session, we will explore how to develop your student workers into advising student leaders! This feel-good presentation will share stories from advising student leaders who will share in their own words the value they gain from working in advising. Additionally, we will review related research on employee engagement and discuss how to incorporate these ideas into student worker training. You will be encouraged to brainstorm helpful training sessions for your student workers and leave with a plan to put into action.
