Are you engaging with your incoming students over the summer? Welcoming students isn't limited to summer orientation!
Advisors at the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech identified a need to connect with incoming students, prior to their arrival for summer orientation. Utilizing simple and readily available technologies, such as webinars, advisors created a new communication plan to better prepare students for orientation and life as a student. With this new plan, advisors provided an earlier and more personal welcome and helped ease the transition into the Pamplin community.
Presenters will describe the development and implementation process, including challenges and lessons learned. Participants will engage in an interactive activity that allows them to share current communication methods and ideas for improvements. |
