Abstract:
|
Do you often find yourself focusing all of your time and energy on your students and forgetting to take time for yourself? How do you know that you are meeting the needs of your students each day throughout your advising appointments? This poster presentation will focus on understanding self-care and its importance in the advising profession, while highlighting ways in which an advising team can take a proactive approach to creating an environment of support that promotes compassion, laughter, and fun in an effort to avoid burnout. All participants will leave with a better understanding of the importance of a self-care plan, how they can create a plan of their own, and ultimately incorporate it into their advising practice. |
