Abstract:

With large caseloads, advisors often overlook student narratives and instead focus on policies and procedures in academic probation meetings. However, by taking time to fully understand these stories, advisors can better serve these students and identify the relevant resources for their unique struggles.
Over the past decade, superheroes and superheroines have dominated pop culture. Why have their origin stories and subsequent adventures remained so engaging? Origin stories humanize the main character by chronicling the positive change that emerges from significant challenge. Come for theory, application, and role play as we explore the mythology behind origin stories. You will acquire new powers to assist probation students with conquering their academic challenges and will enable them to become the superheroes and superheroines of their own stories! |
