Lead Presenter: Carlos Zapata
Date: October 02, 2018    Time: 8:45 am - 9:45 am
Room: N 231 A/B
Abstract: "In higher education, we often joke that we need to 'trick students into learning'--but how can we actually accomplish integrating learning and fun within the classroom setting? In this presentation, the presenters will discuss how gamification is used as a tool for engagement with students in first year seminars. This interactive session will cover four specific games that are used by academic advisors and career consultants at (College) to encourage students to think about major and career exploration. Participants will be able play several of the games and take back ideas and resources to use with their own students.
