Abstract:

This panel presentation will highlight the benefits and challenges of mentoring relationships. A diverse group of mentors and mentees, who are advising practitioners, will participate representing differences in gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic level, and institutional type.
The panel will include the following dyads/triads:
(1) Dr. Joanne K. Damminger, Gavin Farber, and Andrew Millin
(2) Dr. Erin Justyna and Brandan Lowden
(3) Dr. Melinda Anderson and Lisa Yamin
(4) Kyle Ross and Brittany Hoover
Presenters will discuss the processes of short- and long-term mentoring including finding a mentor, forming, and maintaining a mentoring relationship, and the benefits and challenges of mentoring. The dyads will share their stories of supporting one another. Join the session for a fun look at mentoring, and come prepared to laugh, frown, cheer, and plan your next mentoring steps! |
